Samyang 14mm T3.1 ISO100 1/200

Created by artist/design Paul Cummins and Tom Piper. When complete 888,246 ceramic poppies will progressively fill the Tower’s famous moat over the summer. Each representing a British military fatality during the war.

Here is a before/after from the heavy editing in photoshop. There were thousands of people jostling for glimpse of the poppy field and setting up a tripod was completely out of the question. I seized the opportunity when I saw a gap in the crowd and took a quick snap from the bridge.

Using the original 5 bracketed photo’s, I re-edited the HDR effects as well as correcting the perspective distortion.

Below is the before and after original neutral exposed shot followed by the HDR version.

The photo was originally taken back in 2011 when I newly discovered the post processing style of HDR (high dynamic range). As with all photographers, I over used this effect and ‘overcooked’ most of my images.

Scotland – Glasgow / Edinburgh

Quick late night photography shoot.

25 second shutter exposure, light painted with a standard torch. Quick dirty edit using iPad Snapseed (verticals are slightly off.. blame the dodgy table)
